What is Yemeni Hadrami Sidr honey?
It is the blonde honey extracted from Sidr and thorny trees and it has not been subjected to any heat or other treatments to ensure the preservation of its natural properties.
- From where does he come?
From the valleys of Yemen, the land of civilization and tradition, and the land of honey for centuries, it presents the essence of its natural products.
- Especially in the regions of Hadhramaut, Taiz, and Shabwa, so Yemeni Umaraa honey is one of the finest types of Sidr honey.
Yemeni Hadramawt Sidr honey is considered one of the most expensive types of honey in the world, and is particularly distinguished as one of the finest types of Sidr honey, due to the climate and environment of the Hadhramaut Valley, which is an ideal place for making honey.
Since ancient times, it is distinguished from other types of Sidr honey in that it contains a very high percentage of Sidr pollen.
Special notes from Al Mujeza laboratory:
According to the tests conducted by laboratory technician Zabihullah Ahmed Reda, who works in the laboratory of the Quality Control Department of Mujezat Al-Shifa Company in Kuwait, he discovered that no alteration occure in Sidr honey when exposed to heat, whether low, medium, or high, even at a temperature of 80 degrees Celsius. With the exception of that small thing that is barely significant in terms of the various sugars it contains or the enzymes whose rate of alteration in other types of honey is much faster, even when exposed to low temperatures, than in the enzymes of Sidr honey.
Likewise, the compound hydroxymethylfurfural, which is an indicator of the quality of honey, was found to have only increased by two or three degrees in Al Umaraa Sidr honey, while it had increased more in other types of honey and reached a higher level. From 30 to 50 degrees (ppm) at a temperature of 70-80 degrees Celsius within half an hour.
A sample of old Sidr honey stored in tightly sealed glass for 10 years was also examined in the same laboratory, and no changes appeared in the chemical composition or quality specifications, and the percentage of hydroxymethyl furfural (HMF) did not increase.
The best ways to test Yemeni Hadrami Sidr honey at home:
There are several ways to know whether honey is natural and beneficial or unnatural (because it may be natural but not beneficial if it is processed in unhealthy ways such as heating):
- The first method: look carefully at the honey because natural honey contains impurities either on the surface or inside the honey package, while unnatural honey is very transparent, like glass, so that it does not block the view from behind the package.
- The second method: By smelling the honey, the honey has a smell that may be strong or weak, and it is the smell of the flowers and fields from which the honey was produced by the bees, while unnatural or useless honey has no smell.
- The third method: Taste the honey. Natural honey has a flavour, which is the flavor of flowers and plants, while unnatural honey is just sweetness, meaning sweet like sugar syrup without any special taste.
- Fourth method: Eat honey. If it is natural, it will relax your stomach and you will not feel any discomfort in the stomach. However, if the honey is unnatural, you will feel a burning sensation in the stomach that will not go away unless you drink water several times throughout the day.
